Patton; our last Winner!

Last week was a great week! First; my wife started a new book destined to keep her on the couch “and out of my office”, the neighbors’ dog, “accidentally” got squashed by a garbage truck and the cherry on my sundae was the finest military in the world sending an even dozen Afghan Jihadists off to their seventy-two virgins. Or…in the literal Arabic translation, “seventy-two white raisins”. Honest; look it up.

However; it was somewhat disturbing to see the entire hullabaloo surrounding the sudden room temperature of a few busloads of innocent civilians. This seeming faux pas apparently warranted the visit of a lieutenant General to Inspector Clouseasu the whole mishap and insure heads would roll.

Look; I’m as sensitive to blown up babies as the next guy but I didn’t raise an eyebrow on this news, and frankly I want and expect more dead civilians; Lots of them.

Listen up peaceniks and purveyors of non violent conflict resolution. War is hell and the first rule of war is that innocents will die. America has engaged in a war with Islam while holding a purse in one hand and tying the other hand behind the ACLU. We’ve been too damned worried about turning women and children into mulch instead of keeping our eye on the ball and conducting warfare in the only manner that has proven successful, that being; a reckless disregard for human life and ruthlessness rarely seen in human endeavor.

General Patton fired one of his company commanders for entering a small hamlet under heavy fire instead of calling for air support to literally level the village, innocent civilians and all.

When engaging in the art of war one might assume that we would actually look to a commander in a war that we actually won for at least some semblance of guidance.

In World War two allied forces would engage a town or village up to the point wherein they came under heavy resistance. At that point they would retreat to the edge of the village and absolutely level the place with armor and air for at least twenty four hours. We bombed German cities, including Dresden and Berlin. We killed more civilian Japanese by firebombing their cities than died at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We won.

Now we face a new enemy, no more deadly or powerful and we flounder in our pursuit of victory.

And; this week, our national debate has been focused on water sports with detainees that go boom. What the hell?

George Patton wrote about a pale white German who had just blown up a bridge, from his foxhole, killing several American G.I.’s. As the bridge fell into the water the German soldier jumped out of his foxhole and surrendered. In astonishment Patton watched as American soldiers accepted his surrender. Later; three of the four soldiers who had, “captured” the German were transferred to potato peelers. They hadn’t the will to fight or do what was necessary to win.

Of course; Patton wouldn’t be embraced into polite politically correct American as it is currently inhabited. We’d prefer to stick out our pinky finger while we read Miranda rights to terrorists who have sworn to kill us. Patton said it, “It seems to me a certainty that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of the Arab women are the outstanding causes for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly as he was around the year 700, while we have been developing”. We could learn a great deal from Patton. For instance, he also said, “The radio this morning said that the C.I.O. wants a bigger 'New Deal'. Where in hell do they think the money comes from? Or, do they simply want to destroy our form of government and go communist? If they knew as much about Russia as I do, they would not be so crazy to be communists’.” He continued, “Politicians are the lowest form of life on the earth. Liberal Democrats are the lowest form of politician”. Nuff Said.
